Primers & Top Coats

Uniform application, color matching, and adhesion-focused prep for long-term protection.

Durable coatings applied with uniformity

Primers and top coats do two different jobs:

  • Primer: adhesion + corrosion resistance foundation
  • Top coat: weathering resistance, abrasion resistance, chemical resistance, and final appearance

We apply primers and top coats for:

  • Industrial equipment and fabricated steel
  • Manufacturing parts (repeat runs)
  • Projects that need consistent color and finish

Not all primers are built the same

Primer selection depends on substrate and exposure.
Common industrial primer types include:

  • Zinc-rich primers (often specified for corrosion protection on steel)
  • Epoxy primers for harsh industrial/marine exposures and barrier protection

Prep note: Many primer systems perform best over properly blasted steel at the specified cleanliness level and surface profile. Specs frequently reference standards like SSPC-SP10.

Top coats that protect and finish clean

Top coats are chosen based on performance needs:

  • Exterior durability and UV resistance
  • Color and gloss retention
  • Abrasion resistance
  • Chemical splash resistance
